This combined focus has yielded many achievements for Halocarbon, the most recent of which is a highly coveted honor from pharmaceutical giant Abbott -- a Supplier Excellence Award for “exceptional contributions” in 2006.
“Abbott’s business requires continuous excellence from its supply chain around the world and these awards recognize those suppliers that meet the highest standards,” said Sarah Catterson, divisional vice president, corporate purchasing, Abbott. She added that 23 suppliers from several different industries received the award for 2006.
Abbott has more than 25,000 suppliers and only the very top performing ones – less than 0.1% of their supplier base - receive this award, based on criteria including: logistics, quality, service, cost leadership and process improvement.
“Our commitment to exceptional product quality, consistency and competitive pricing has translated into a successful, 25-year relationship with Abbott,” said Halocarbon’s CEO Peter Murin. “And the proof is in the results – after receiving millions of kilos of product from us, Abbott never rejected a single lot. Abbott deemed us outstanding suppliers for consistently excellent performance throughout 2006.”
The combination of science and service that earned Halocarbon this award is now being extended beyond the U.S. to companies in Asia and Europe as Halocarbon expands globally.
