Halocarbon Announces Licensing Agreement with IBM

River Edge, NJ - September 15, 2009 - Halocarbon Products Corporation (www.halocarbon.com), a leading worldwide producer of specialty fluorochemicals, has entered into a licensing agreement with IBM to access IBM's industry-leading portfolio of patents related to hexafluoroisopropanol-based photoresists for semiconductor manufacturing. "Halocarbon has long produced hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP) as a key component in the manufacture of the anesthetic sevoflurane," said Halocarbon CEO Peter Murin. "With this agreement, we can partner our fluorochemicals development and manufacturing expertise with IBM's leadership in developing advanced electronic materials such as photoresists."
