Halocarbon

Anti-galling thread sealant

Seal and protect threaded connections in demanding environments

Halocarbon’s anti-galling lubricants are engineered to safeguard threaded fasteners, seals, and connectors from mechanical wear and chemical attack. Our InfinX and Halocarbon-branded greases provide exceptional stability in demanding environments where galling, e.g. stainless steel seizing or cold-welding is a risk.

With nonflammable, chemically inert formulations, these greases deliver long-term reliability across a wide temperature range, making them ideal for use in chemical processing, aerospace, energy, and semiconductor manufacturing.

Thread Sealants

Lubricants serve three essential functions in threaded connectors:

  • Sealing:  They fill the microscopic gaps between threaded connections to prevent gas or liquid leaks when under pressure
  • Lubrication:  They reduce friction during assembly and disassembly, ensuring proper torque application, preventing thread damage
  • Anti-Galling:  They lubricate the interface between fasteners such as bolts and the tapped hole, preventing galling or cold welding

Halocarbon Greases and Waxes exhibit low compressibility, good flow characteristics, and broad materials compatibility.  Combined with their nonreactive and nonflammable properties, these products provide a safe and tight seal that does not crack or cure, making them superior to alternatives like PTFE tape or anaerobic sealants.

Engineered greases for reliable thread sealing

Halocarbon’s greases and waxes are specially formulated to prevent galling, cold-welding, and thread seizure—ensuring long-lasting, leak-free connections. These greases perform exceptionally in chemically aggressive and high-temperature environments, offering superior protection for threaded components in critical applications.

Product DESCRIPTION
Molybdenum-containing PCTFE grease that is a firmer bodied, to have exceptional chemical
inertness and thermal stability for thread lubrication and sealant applications
Broad-temperature PCTFE based grease, formerly sold as Halocarbon 25-5S. Typically used in
valves, regulators, assembly lube, and thread sealant applications

Not recommended for use in applications that are prone to attack by chemicals active towards silica
Low-temperature PCTFE based grease, formerly sold as Halocarbon 28LT

These PCTFE-based oils are engineered to provide non-flammable, inert, low-compressibility performance — even when traditional oils fail

Halocarbon Greases and Waxes outperform traditional options when safety, chemical resistance, and non-curing functionality are mission-critical — especially in oxygen service, reactive systems, or precision assemblies – making these lubricants a trusted choice across the aerospace, chemical manufacturing and high-purity gas industries.

Why choose Halocarbon for thread protection?

Halocarbon anti-galling greases are trusted across aerospace, energy, and chemical processing industries for their ability to perform under pressure—literally and chemically. These greases stand up to aggressive materials like halogens and acids without breaking down, making them ideal for critical sealing points in demanding systems.

They’re also nonflammable and nontoxic, providing added safety in high-risk environments. Thanks to broad material compatibility, they won’t degrade metals, plastics, or elastomers over time. And with dependable performance across a wide temperature range, they help ensure tight, trouble-free connections even under extreme thermal and mechanical stress.
