Halocarbon

Electronics

Halocarbon plays at the cutting edge of the modern microelectronics industry. From photoresist monomers for advanced chip fabrication, and monomers for the next generation of display technology, to lithium battery electrolyte additives that increase power and range. Halocarbon delivers specialty fluorochemicals at the scales and quality required by the global microelectronics industry.

Photoresist Monomers

Halocarbon manufactures fluorinated monomers designed for use in photoresists coatings.   These monomers are used in both 193 nm immersion lithography process and in extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography.  Providing the critical properties of water repellency and low-residue dissolution in tetramethyl ammonium hydroxide (TMAH) development medium, Halocarbon has been delivering high quality photoresist monomers for 193i lithography for over 10 years.  As feature sizes continue to shrink, Halocarbon innovation continues to partners with leading edge photoresist companies to deliver monomers with high EUV absorption efficiency.

Lithium Battery Electrolyte Additives

Halocarbon electrolyte additives deliver a range of properties to the demanding needs of lithium batteries. Our products are designed with scale in mind, providing battery companies and OEMs with high performance additives with the assurance of commercial delivery.  Halocarbon electrolyte additives are used in high-energy density systems, protecting lithium cell components in high-voltage stress across a broad temperature range.

Advanced Polyimide Solutions

From advanced displays to polyimide-based coating systems, Halocarbon manufactures solutions designed for the future of the microelectronics industry.  Halocarbon is the only US-based manufacturer of the critical monomer system used in colorless polyimide films for flexible display applications.  Our fluorinated processing aids enable photosensitive polyimides in low-dielectric loss applications and conformal coatings.

Electronics Grade Solvents & Processing Aids

Halocarbon has developed a line of products designed to provide the quality and efficiency for a broad range of microelectronic manufacturing operations.  Our low-GWP engineered fluid, Halocarbon HFE, is used in critical cleaning of microelectroic components and as carrier solvents for conformal coatings, serving as a replacement for 3M Novec 7100 with a significantly improved environmental profile.  Our fluorinated chelating agents are used in semiconductor chamber cleaning applications.
