Halocarbon

Industrial Maintenance Repair & Operations

Non-flammable, Non-Reactive, Resistant to Heat and Chemical Attack.  Halocarbon fluorinated lubricants have been providing safety and reliability to hazardous operations for over 75 years.

General Lubrication

Halocarbon offers two classes of fluorinated lubricants engineered to provide the safety and reliability required in critical and hazardous operations throughout the chemical and manufacturing industries.  Halocarbon PCTFE lubricants are highly specialized lubricants, designed to provide superior lubrication and sealing properties under specific operating conditions and for specific applications.  Halocarbon PFPE lubricants are more general lubricants that can be used across a broader range of operating conditions and in applications such as roller bearings.  Regardless of your application or industry, Halocarbon has you covered.

Chlorine-Safe Lubricants

Halocarbon fluorinated oils and greases are chlorine-compatible and are used in a broad range of industrial chlorine applications – from chlorine production, transportation, storage and use.  Halocarbon’s chlorine-safe oils and greases provide excellent lubricity, superior sealing, and the highest levels of safety.  These lubricants are used in combination with a broad range of industrial equipment – from gauges and seals, to compressors and pumps.

Oxygen-Safe Cryogenic Gas Lubricants

Halocarbon oils and greases are safe to use in oxygen service applications.  Halocarbon fluorinated oils and greases do not contain any hydrogens, making them non-reactive with oxygen, peroxides, and other strong oxidizers and cryogenic gases.  These lubricants are use across a broad range of equipment –  from gauges and seals to compressors and pumps, and across a broad range of industries – from industrial and medical oxygen gas transportaion, storage and use, to hyperbaric chambers and oxyacetylene welding.

Gauges & Instrumentation

Halocarbon’s non-reactive fluorinated oils and greases are used throughout the gauges and instrumetnation used  in chemical industry process controls and automation.  Gauges and diaphragm seals used in contact with hazardous or reactive chemical processes require the use of Halocarbon oils to maintain a safe barrier between a reactive chemical process and process instrumentation.  Halocarbon oils offer very low compressibility, allowing for highly acurate and safe measurement of pressure.

Thread Seals for Valves & Industry Piping

Halocarbon oils and greases provide excellent lubrication and sealing properties.  These fluids are used across a broad range of valves and piping, due to their chemical inertnes and superior anti-galling properties – providing excellent lubrication and sealing in threaded piping and valve stems while preventing siezing or cold welding of connections and joints.

Pumps, Compressors, & Vacuums

Halocarbon oils and greases provide excellent lubrication and sealing properties.  These fluids are used across a broad range of pumps and compressors, due to their chemical inertnes and nonreactivity – providing excellent lubrication and mechanical wear protection in reactive environments and the highest balance of cost, lubricity and safety.  Halocarbon PCTFE lubricants are inherently resistant to strong acid attack, and are used in the pumping and compression of strong acids and Lewis acids.

Mechanical Seal Barrier Fluids

Halocarbon oils provide excellent barrier properties due to their chemical inertness and Lewis acid resistance.  These fluids are used in a broad range of mechanical seal applications, especially those at cryogenic temperatures or those used in processes involving strong acids or Lewis acidic fluids.  Halocarbon oils are compatible with a broad range of sealing materials and are used in both high and low velocity rotary equipment.
