Characteristics of Cryogenic Calibration Bath Fluids

Advanced cryogenic baths used to calibrate temperature probes require high-performance fluids with unsurpassed stability, reliability, and usability at extremely low temperatures. Additionally, these fluids must provide precise, repeatable performance to match the demanding requirements of high-tech industries using cryogenic temperature probes.

Fluid Characteristics for Cryogenic Calibration Bath:

  • Excellent fluidity at low temperatures for Operating Range at -100ºC to 70ºC
  • Good thermal heat transfer capabilities
  • Chemically inert
  • Nonflammable
  • Non-corrosive
  • Low toxicity
  • Excellent stability
  • Hydrophobic
  • UV Stable

High Performance for Greater Precision

Calibration bath fluids require a combination of high-performance properties to ensure greater precision and unmatched reliability for a wide range of applications. In addition to safety, stability, and low viscosity characteristics, calibration bath fluids must maintain mechanical and physical properties to maintain elevated performance after repeat bath temperature cycling.

Halocarbon offers a wide portfolio of high-performance fluids available in various viscosities, grades, and prices to fit multiple applications.

Halocarbon 0.8 Oil

Halocarbon 0.8 Oil is a high-performing low molecular weight polymer of chlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE) and provides a safe, non-flammable, and chemically inert fluid for cryogenic calibration bath processes.  This clear, colorless, engineered synthetic polymer is specially formulated with excellent low temperature fluidity, thermal stability, and low compressibility for enhanced performance in stringent environments.

Halocarbon 0.8 Oil is completely safe to handle and exhibits excellent performance properties resulting in higher precision calibrations.
